Farris Brothers was founded as a dry goods company in 1946 by Sam Farris and two of his brothers in an 800 square foot facility in Hattiesburg, MS. Farris Brothers incorporated in 1956 under the sole ownership of Sam Farris at which time the company transitioned from dry goods to fishing tackle. In 1961 the company held its first Fishing Tackle show which continues to be held as an annual event. Hunting products were first added during the 1960’s with growth in that industry continuing today. Bart Farris began the second generation in the family joining the company in the early 1970’s and in 1979 became Vice President. Sam Farris passed away in 1994 at which time Bart Farris fully assumed the reins of the company as company President.
In 2010 Bret Farris joined the company representing the third generation of the Farris family and in 2014 became Vice President. During this 2010s the company experienced rapid growth fueling the need for infrastructure and warehouse upgrades.
Today the company is poised to take on the challenges of future growth through infrastructure upgrades and the expansion of value added services to the dealer.
